Period: circa 1920'-30's
Material and textile technique: Soft Kinsa Silk 
Pattern: Fukiyose (botanical collection of Japanese fortune symbols ) 

 Inside material: red and orange silk  

Fukiyose pattern is one of the most favoured Japanese kimono pattern. It includes following plants;

Chrysanthemums (kiku in Japanese) :  the most prestigious flower in Japan, and one of the most popular fortune symbols in Japan. The family crest of the  Japanese royal family is also chrysanthemum. Chrysanthemums also represent longevity, nobleness and evil dispelling.

Pine tree & Plum blossoms:  also known as a fortune symbol and one of the most popular motifs. 

The texture is soft and light, very comfortable to wear as a dress or gown. 

Because Japanese sewing are both sides no seams, and the lining is beautiful red (beni plant dyed red) and orange silk, you can also wear inside out. 

All hand sewn, made in Japan.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. There is a few pinhole size holes on the lining but it's not noticeable while wearing. This kimono is about 100 years old but I don't find any other major stains, damages or faults. I try to describe the kimono as accurate as possible.

Size: free size
kimonos are box-shape. it will fit many sizes. The torso body is UK 10 size.
